AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn baseball hosts Louisiana Tech in its first of two fall exhibition games Saturday at Plainsman Park. First pitch in the 12-inning contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

Admission is free. Those unable to attend can listen to the action on WEGL 91.1.

QUICK HITTERS

Head coach Butch Thompson enters his eighth season at the helm of the program and leads a roster that currently consists of 24 returners and 24 newcomers.

Coming off the program's second trip to Omaha in the last three postseasons, the team's 2022 signing class has been ranked as high as No. 5 in the country by Perfect Game.

Thompson returns assistant coaches Karl Nonemaker, who was named the 2022 ABCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, and Gabe Gross, and welcomes pitching coach Daron Schoenrock to the staff this season.

Auburn's 2023 SEC schedule has been announced and begins with a three-game series at Arkansas from Mar. 17-19.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

Louisiana Tech posted a 43-21 overall record and 20-10 mark in C-USA play before winning the conference tournament and earning a No. 2 seed in the Austin Regional.

The NCAA Tournament appearance was the program's second straight, third since 2016 and 10th all-time. The Bulldogs hosted a regional in 2021.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Gates will open at 12 p.m. CT. Fans are asked to enter through the main gates behind home plate. The Tiger Terrace and right field gates will be closed.

Parking will be available in the Coliseum lot, Neville Arena lot and stadium parking deck.

The concession stand behind home plate will be open with bottled drinks and pre-packaged snacks available for purchase. All transactions are cashless.
