TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Auburn finished play at the ITA Southern Regionals being held in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Monday.
The Auburn doubles team of Finn Murgett and Tyler Stice posted four wins in the doubles main draw to make it to the semifinal round including an 8-4 win over Alabama's Filip Planinsek and German Samofalov, the 33rd ranked doubles team in the country according to the ITA. Junior Jan Galka and freshman Alejandro Moreno teamed up and claimed three victories while the Tigers duo of junior Josh Raab and senior Spencer Gray took two matches in the doubles main draw.
Galka claimed two singles victories and made the quarterfinals in the singles main draw. In addition to their four doubles wins, Murgett and Stice each won one match in the singles main draw. Raab, Gray and Moreno each earned a singles victory in the consolation bracket on Saturday. Raab and Moreno went on to each claim a second singles win on Sunday.
Up next on the fall schedule for the Tigers is the Florida Fall Invite in Gainesville, Fla. on November 4-6.
