As Auburn softball continues to roll through the fall season, a group of fresh faces are poised to make and instant impact and continue to take the program to the next level. Throughout the fall, we'll introduce the new members of Auburn softball as they prepare to put the Southeastern Conference and country on notice.
Next to the plate if the first of three student-athletes that transferred into the program. After spending two seasons on Rocky Top, KK McCrary, an infielder form Murfreesboro, Tennessee, brings added SEC experience to the roster.
Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?
McCrary: My dad.
Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes that want to play at the next level?
McCrary: Cherish all the relationships that you make.
Q: What is your favorite home cooked meal?
McCrary: Meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
Q: What uniform combo are you most looking forward to wearing?
McCrary: All whites.
Q: What makes Auburn softball special?
McCrary: Auburn softball is special because of the people within the program. The environment daily is fun and full of energy.
Q: What's currently your favorite social media platform to use?
McCrary: Tik Tok.
Q: If Auburn softball could play in a tournament anywhere in the world, where would you'd like to go?
McCrary: I'd like to go to the Bahamas. I think it'd be a cool trip with some beach time.
Q: What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
McCrary: My highlight is finding my new home at Auburn.
Q: If you were stranded of a deserted island, which three times would you bring with you?
McCrary: I would bring Shelby (Lowe) because she could probably cook something somehow. I would bring Millie (Roberts) and Skylar (Elkins) because we always have a good time. If I'm deserted, I want to just have a good time while I can!
Q: Describe your perfect piece of pizza.
McCrary: Cheese – only.
Q: How is Auburn different from your hometown?
McCrary: Auburn is different because it is a lot smaller.
Q: What academic or athletics goals for you have for this season?
McCrary: My academic goal is to always ne on the honor roll. My athletic goal is to win the SEC and make a run at the World Series.
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
McCrary: Christmas.
Q: Who is a celebrity you admire?
McCrary: Austin Riley.
Q: If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you pick?
McCrary: Iwould pick my dog, Sam, because no pet is better than him.
Q: What makes the coaching staff at Auburn different from other coaches you've had in your career?
McCrary: They push us to be our best physically, and they can joke around with us.
Q: If you had to switch sports for a week, what Auburn team would you join?
McCrary: I would join the football team.
Q: Why did you decide to continue your softball career at Auburn?
McCrary: I felt Auburn was a healthy place to continue my career and grow as a persona and a player.
Q: Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
McCrary: I'm not superstitious at all.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
McCrary: I would want to read people's minds.
Q: What is your major? What do you plan to do with your degree?
McCrary: I'm majoring in human development and family science. I want to become a counselor.
Q: What type of music gets your hyped before a game?
McCrary: Party music.
Q: If you could only watch one TV show for the rest of your left, what show would it be?
McCrary: The Office.
Q: What is your favorite professional athlete or sports team to follow?
McCrary: My favorite team is the Tennessee Titans.
Q: What is one word you'd use to describe yourself on the field and one word to describe yourself off the field.
McCrary: On the field, I am a competitor. Off the field, I am the most laid back person ever.
Q: What is an interesting fact about yourself that the Auburn Family should know?
McCrary: I have three siblings.
Q: What is a favorite memory you've made with a teammate so far?
McCrary: Going to football games with the team has been a lot of fun.
Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport other than softball?
McCrary: I really like going to basketball games. The atmosphere is crazy.
Q: If you could trade places with one of your coaches for a game, who would it be?
McCrary: I would trade places with Coach Dean, so I can wear his hat.
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
McCrary: I am looking forward to being part of the family and am so excited to win some games this year!
