ATLANTA, Ga. – The Tigers will conclude their season this week in front of a national audience at the prestigious East Lake Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
Every year since 2015, the East Lake Cup has invited the final four teams from the previous season's NCAA Championship to compete in the event at East Lake Golf Club, which is the site of the PGA Tour's annual TOUR Championship as well as the home course of golf legend Bobby Jones.
This year, the field on the women's side will consist of Auburn, Texas A&M, Oregon and UCLA. 2022 national champion Stanford was not able to attend and UCLA, who the Tigers defeated in the quarterfinals of the 2022 NCAA Championship, will take their place as the fourth team in the event.
"We played really well last year to earn the opportunity to play in the East Lake Cup. We have a new looking team this year after some fifth-year seniors left after last season so we'd like to show off how hard we've been working by finishing the season strong," said Auburn junior Elina Sinz. "Personally, I have been playing pretty well and want to finish the fall on a good note. I am really excited to play."
Monday's round will be a traditional stroke play format and an individual champion will be crowned. The team score from Monday will be used to determine seeding for the match play format that will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday. The winning teams from Tuesday's matches will meet on Wednesday for the finals match while the losing teams will play a consolation match.
All three days of the event will be nationally televised on Golf Channel from 2pm-5pm CT as well as streaming on the Golf Channel app.
