AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn junior forward Aicha Coulibaly earned a spot on the preseason All-SEC second team as selected by the league's coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Coulibaly was an All-SEC Second Team selection as a sophomore last season, when she led the Tigers with 17.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Her scoring average ranked fifth in the SEC, and she recorded five double-doubles during the 2021-22 season to lead the Tigers. Her career-high of 27 points against Charleston Southern on Nov. 26 was one of nine games where she topped the 20-point mark.

The Tigers were picked to finish 13th in the SEC by the league's coaches. South Carolina was predicted to defend their SEC title, and the Gamecocks' Aliyah Boston was named preseason SEC Player of the Year. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team or players.

Basketball season is just over a week away as the Tigers will host Tuskegee for an exhibition game Thursday, Nov. 3, at Neville Arena. Admission is free and tip is set for 7 p.m. CT. The first official game of the regular season is Tuesday, Nov. 8, at home against Sam Houston.
