BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the third time in four weeks, a member of the Auburn men's golf team has been voted Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

Closing out the fall, it's sophomore Brendan Valdes earning the honor after collecting his first collegiate win at the Isleworth Collegiate earlier in the week.

As Auburn's top scorer at Isleworth, Valdes played a major part in the team securing the best start to a season in the 75-year history of the program. With three wins under their belt in the fall, the Tigers stand just two more from breaking the single-season record.

Valdes carded a pair of 67s and a 72 to total a 10-under 206 for the tournament. While the individual victory is the first of his tenure, it is the fourth time that Valdes has landed a top-five outing.

With a 68.33 strokes per round average, the Orlando, Florida product also sits atop the SEC leaderboard for golfers who have played at least 12 rounds.

Valdes and the No. 1 Tigers will return to the links Feb. 8-10, 2023, at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
