AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn senior Finn Murgett and sophomore Will Nolan both went undefeated in the prequalifying round of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Murgett, who was the 12 seed in the prequalifying round, defeated Thomas Brennan from Butler, University of the Pacific's Terence Das, Raul Garcia from Kennesaw State and Illinois' Oliver Okonkwo to punch his ticket to the qualifying round.

Nolan took down Arizona State's Constantinos Koshis, Presley Thieneman from Northwestern, Nebraska's Shunya Maruyama, and Carles Hernandez from conference foe Mississippi State to make it to qualifiers.

"I am pleased with the performances of our team this weekend in Tulsa," said Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds after the prequalifying round came to a close on Sunday. "We had numerous quality wins against the toughest teams in the country, plus Finn Murgett and Will Nolan were able to advance to the qualifying draw starting Monday."

Auburn senior Raul Dobai had a highlight on Saturday, when he defeated the number one prequalifying seed Isaac Becroft from Oklahoma State 6-1, 3-6, 6-0.

In the qualifying round on Monday, Murgett will face Liam Krall from SMU at 11:00 a.m. and Nolan will face Pennsylvania's Kevin Zhu at 11:30 a.m. CT. Senior Jan Galka, who was able to bypass the prequalifying round, will play Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi from Baylor at 11:30 a.m. CT. Senior Tyler Stice will begin play once the main draw begins on Wednesday.

"The All-American Championships is as much mental as it is physical with the number of successful matches needed to progress through the week," Reynolds said. "Monday's matches will be no different from the previous four, and with the right clarity on court we can continue to do some damage."

Auburn totaled 13 singles victories during the prequalifying rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
