AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn doubles team of Ariana Arseneault and Carolyn Ansari fell in their first match of the main draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, NC on Wednesday.
Virginia's Natasha Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky, the 26th best doubles team nationally, took down the Tiger duo 3-6, 6-4, 13-11.
"The level was high this afternoon. Unfortunately, we did not execute the way we would have liked, but we did a lot of good things," said Auburn associate head coach Megan Falcon. "October is still a ways away from when we want to be playing our best. Carolyn [Ansari] and Ariana [Arsensault] will be hungry to compete again tomorrow."
On Thursday, Arseneault and Ansari will play Abigail Rencheli and Sophie Abrams from NC State in a consolation match. The time is still to be determined.
