CARY, N.C. – Auburn doubles team Ariana Arseneault and Carolyn Ansari finished the ITA All-American Championships in the win column on Sunday.
Arseneault and Ansari defeated 24th nationally ranked doubles team Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff from Ohio State 6-0, 7-6 (5). After a loss in the first round of the doubles main draw, the Auburn duo bounced back to win four straight matches and win the consolation bracket.
"Treating each other right through the entire match and rewarding ourselves for doing the right things will bring a lot of success," Ansari said after the match.
Her teammate Arseneault added, "We learned to treat every point the same. Taking confidence in every opportunity earned is really important for us knowing we would always earn another one to capitalize on"
"This means a lot for us as a team. We love playing for each other and we are proud of the fight and work we put in this week," Ansari and Arseneault said reflecting on their time in Cary at the championship.
Up next, the Tigers will participate in the Puerto Rico Hidden Duals on October 28-30 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
