No. 3 Auburn Jumping Seat tops Bridgewater, 6-2

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team hosted Bridgewater Thursday and topped the Eagles, 6-2, in a Jumping Seat only contest at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
 
"The team rode well today, and it was great to see others perform well for us in competition," head coach Greg Williams said. "I'm really proud of the team for coming together to put on a great meet and am looking forward to the Auburn Family showing up tomorrow for our big contest against Oklahoma State."


Freshman Baylee Mckeever and sophomore Anna Marie Mayes were awarded MOP honors in Flat and Fences, respectively.
 
The Tigers took a 3-1 lead after Flat to start the day. Senior Lindsey Klein opened up with a 79-72 win, while junior Samantha Briggs followed with a 76-65 victory. The Eagles took the next point before Mckeever capped the event with her MOP ride, 88-76.
 
The Fences corps went 3-1 vs. the Eagles to close out the meet. Mckeever finished her day undefeated with a 76-65 win over Ellie Weinreb. Mayes won her MOP point, 79-70, while junior Grace Pearson edged her opponent, 78-76. Bridgewater took the final point of the day.
 
The No. 3 Tigers return to action Friday, Nov. 18, with a full squad meet against No. 7 Oklahoma State. The contest will be held at the Auburn University Equestrian Center and will start at 3 p.m. CT. Admission is free.
