As Auburn softball continues to roll through the fall semester, a group of fresh faces are poised to make and instant impact and continue to take the program to the next level. Throughout the fall, we'll introduce the new members of Auburn softball as they prepare to put the Southeastern Conference and country on notice.
Stepping to the plate is true freshman Millie Roberts, a catcher/infielder from Owensboro, Kentucky. A nationally ranked recruit, Roberts won multiple All-State selections during her storied career at Daviess County, including breaking the school's season home run record that was previously held by University of Kentucky standout Lauren Johnson.
Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?
Roberts: My parents have been my biggest supports my entire career. I have also had many coaches and teammates that have helped me through my softball journey.
Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes that want to play at the next level?
Roberts: I would say to work hard and put yourself out there! There is no limit to what you can do.
Q: What is your favorite home cooked meal?
Roberts: Salmon.
Q: What uniform combo are you most looking forward to wearing?
Roberts: White on white – for sure!
Q: What makes Auburn softball special?
Roberts: The girls! I love this team already, and I feel like everyone has my back.

Q: If Auburn softball could play in a tournament anywhere in the world, where would you'd like to go?
Roberts: Greece. That has always been my dream travel spot.
Q: What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
Roberts: My favorite softball highlight was playing in the state championship with my high school team.
Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, which three teammates would you want to have with you?
Roberts: KK, Maia and Emmah! Kk would make me laugh endlessly and would keep the mood light. Maia would know how to survive. Emmah would be there for emotional support.
Q: Describe your perfect piece of pizza.
Roberts: My favorite pizza is a mashed potato pizza from Fetta in my hometown.
Q: How is Auburn different from your hometown?
Roberts: It's almost the same town except that Auburn has a major college in it. I love the small-town environment.
Q: What are your academic and athletic goals for this season?
Roberts: I want to make good grades, and I want to hit and play defense well to benefit my team.
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
Roberts: Christmas!
Q: Who is a celebrity you admire?
Roberts: Taylor Swift. She is my favorite artist, and I love the grace she has.
Q: If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you pick?
Roberts: A really fluffy cat.
Q: What makes the coaching staff at Auburn different from other coaches you've had in your career?
Roberts: They are very engaged and educated on everything softball.
Q: If you had to switch sports for a week, what Auburn team would you join?
Roberts: Equestrian. I have never tried that.
Q: Why did you decide to continue your softball career at Auburn?
Roberts: Auburn feels like home.
Q: Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
Roberts: I always drink a Monster energy drunk and eat lifesavers gummies.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Roberts: Invisibility, so I could spy on people.
Q: What jersey number are you wearing this upcoming season?
Roberts: No. 31. It was my mom's number when she played. She was a state champion if you didn't know. (I'm sure she will tell you because she brags about it all the time.)
Q: What's your major? What are your future plans following your softball career?
Roberts: I'm majoring in health care administration. I plan to go to law school following my time at Auburn. I want to work in a hospital as a lawyer.
Q: What type of music gets your hyped before a game?
Roberts: Lil' Baby, Lil' Durk and King Von.
Q: If you could only watch one TV show for the rest of your left, what show would it be?
Roberts: Castle. This show has my heart.
Q: What is your favorite professional athlete or sports team to follow?
Roberts: Jocelyn Alo.
Q: What is one word you'd use to describe yourself on the field and one word you'd use to describe yourself off the field?
Roberts: On the field, scrappy. Off the field, coach Carosone said I was "sweet and innocent."
Q: What is one movie that you can quote every line?
Roberts: Starstruck. This has been my favorite movie since I was a kid.
Q: What is your favorite dessert?
Roberts: No bake cookies. No explanation needed.
Q: What is an interesting fact about yourself that the Auburn Family should know?
Roberts: My favorite color is pink, and everyone knows it.
Q: What's a favorite memory you've made with a teammate so far?
Roberts: Honestly, I already have too many to count!
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
Roberts: Thank you for supporting us! It means a lot more than we can say!
Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport other than softball?
Roberts: Basketball. It's my favorite sport to watch.
Q: If you could trade places with one of your coaches for a game, who would it be?
Roberts: Coach Lenti. He is an awesome coach and is always there to pick us up when we are down. I would love to play that role for our team.
