AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Athletics posted its highest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in program history, 93 percent, equaling Auburn's record-setting rate from 2021.

"Congratulations to Auburn student-athletes for their academic diligence in earning their Auburn University degrees," Athletics Director John Cohen said. "This high-level success is a direct result of our student-athletes' and their families' commitment to education as well as the hard work of our academic support services staff and coaching staffs."

Auburn's 93 percent GSR ranks fourth in the Southeastern Conference.

Figures released Nov. 15 reflect graduation numbers among student-athletes who entered college during the 2015-16 academic year.

Division I student-athletes continue to graduate at high rates. The overall NCAA D-I single-year rate held steady at 90%, which continues to be the highest rate recorded.

The NCAA has tracked GSR for more than two decades, and NCAA student-athletes have long surpassed the original benchmark goal of 80%. Since the GSR's inception, the overall student-athlete rate for NCAA D-1 student-athletes has soared from 74% to a two-year consistent rate of 90%.

ABOUT THE GRADUATION SUCCESS RATE: The GSR begins with the federal cohort, and adds transfer students, mid-year enrollees, and non-scholarship students (in specified cases) to the sample. Student-athletes who leave an institution while in good academic standing before exhausting athletics eligibility are removed from the cohort of their initial institution. This rate provides a more complete and accurate look at actual student-athlete success by taking into account the full variety of participants in Division I athletics and tracking their academic outcomes.
