Auburn Made: Week 15 NFL Rundown

It was a week of firsts for Auburn's NFL contingent. C.J. Uzomah caught his first two touchdowns of the season. Carlton Davis pulled down his first interception of the season. And Roger McCreary had a first with his heady assist on an interception.

That and more in this week's NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 15

Derrick Brown, DT, Carolina Panthers
After a subpar week last week, Brown bounced back with another solid performance Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former top 10 pick finished with five tackles, and his overall PFF grade (71.6) was fourth highest on the team. Brown added two pressures, recording a QB hit on one and a QB hurry on the other. Through 15 weeks, he ranks 12th among all interior defensive linemen with a PFF grade of 80.6.

Carlton Davis, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Going against one of the top wide receivers in the NFL in Ja'Marr Chase, Davis more than rose to the challenge Sunday. According to ESPN's Next Gen Stats, Davis aligned across from Chase on 33 of 40 routes and limited the Bengals' wide receiver to just three receptions on eight targets for 32 yards. Davis also hauled in his first interception of the season and had four total pass break-ups, earning a PFF grade of 71.3 in coverage.

Roger McCreary, CB, Tennessee Titans
It won't show up in the stat sheet, but McCreary made one of the more heads up plays of the season Sunday when he flipped the ball to his teammate as he was going out of bounds. His teammate, Joshua Kalu, caught it in bounds for the interception. It was one of several plays made by McCreary who finished as the third highest-graded cornerback in Week 15 with a PFF grade of 86.8. The rookie's overall grade (86.8) and coverage grade (90.2) were both career highs. He recorded three tackles and a pair of pass break-ups.

Braden Smith, OL, Indianapolis Colts
The Colts were on the wrong side of the greatest comeback in NFL history, but Smith had one of his best weeks of the season in Saturday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The fifth year right tackle earned the highest overall PFF grade on the team at 77.7. He was especially good against the run, posting an 80.7 grade in run blocking snaps. Both marks were the second highest of the season for Smith who has allowed one sack over his last four games.

C.J. Uzomah, TE, New York Jets
It had been over a year since Uzomah scored a touchdown, but the former Auburn tight end found the end zone not once but twice Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Uzomah put the Jets on the board with a 40-yard touchdown grab in the first half where he caught it, broke one tackle and walked into the end zone. His second score was a 1-yard grab at the goal line to put the Jets ahead late. Uzomah now has 15 career NFL touchdowns.
