AUBURN, Ala. – After an impressive showing at the St. Pete Clearwater Elite Invitational Presented by Wilson that featured a victory over No. 11/9 Texas, Auburn softball jumped into the top 25 in all four major softball polls.
The Tigers (9-1) saw its debut in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll at No. 21. Auburn also received its first ranking in the D1 Softball Top 25 with a No. 21 ranking as well as checking in at No. 22 for its first ranking of the season by Softball America.
Auburn jumped four spots to No. 21 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25, marking its second straight week ranked by the publication.
Along with upsetting the Longhorns, Auburn earned victories over Texas Tech, Wisconsin and South Florida. The Bulls also moved into the national ranks this week at No. 25.
Auburn has slugged 16 home runs through its first 10 games, ranking 11th in the country in home runs per game. The Tigers hit 22 home runs throughout the entire 2021 season. Auburn also ranks seventh nationally with a .644 team slugging percentage.
Oklahoma was the unanimous No. 1 team in the country for the third straight week. A total of nine SEC team were ranked, including No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Florida, No. 10 Arkansas, No. 12 Kentucky, No. 15 Georgia, No. 16 Missouri, No. 17 Tennessee and No. 24 LSU.
