Catching Up with Meghan KnapicCatching Up with Meghan Knapic

Meghan Knapic was no stranger to the Auburn equestrian program. Watching her sister, Kennedy, go through four successful years with the team, Meghan came to the Plains and made a name for herself. The All-American has put together big rides in Fences for the last three years and will finish her career on Auburn's career wins list in the event. The NCEA First Team All-Scholastic competitor will earn her degree in finance and marketing.

Q: How is this season different knowing it's your last year on the Plains?
"I feel like I don't feel any different knowing this is my last year because it honestly has not hit me yet completely that these four years are coming to an end. Coming in my freshman year, I saw my sister's four years fly by when she was graduating, and I made a pact with myself to never take any day for granted. I still feel like I'm a freshman. I'm enjoying every moment, especially the little things."

Q: How has your experience prepared you for life beyond college?
"This team has prepared me in so many ways for when I graduate. Time management was a huge thing I learned as well as strengthening my people skills, learning how to work as a teammate rather than just an individual."

Q: What would you like to say to the fans and the rest of the Auburn Family?
"I am beyond thankful for the fans and Auburn Family. It is unbelievable and amazing to see the amount of people who back our sport and who try to learn about it even those without an equestrian background."

Q: Looking back on all the big moments you've been a part of, what is one that really stands out?
"Looking back, I can't pick one moment that stuck out. Winning championships are amazing and incredible moments, but nothing beats all the priceless memories and the journey there."

Q: If you had one piece of advice to give your younger self, what would it be?
"I don't really have advice to my younger self because there is nothing I would change about my journey at Auburn the last four years. If I had to really chose, it would be don't put dish soap in the dishwasher!"

Q: What is your major and what is the next step for you after Auburn?
"I'm a double major in finance and marketing. I am planning on turning professional in the industry when I graduate and seeing where it takes me. I am super excited to pursue my passion."

Q: Going into the rest of the season, what is one thing you're looking forward to?
"Going into the rest of season I am looking forward to spending more quality time with my teammates and best friends. Just keep enjoying every moment."

Q: Who is/was your favorite horse at Auburn and why?
"Chad is my favorite. I used to compete on him individually before he was donated to auburn. He has a funny, sweet personality and is just unbelievable to jump. Such a quality, easy, enjoyable horse to ride."

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition and why?
"Rolling Toomer's Corner is my favorite tradition hands down. It is easiest the coolest experience."

Q: Best Greg Williams quote?
"My favorite quote or saying is to never be outworked. Working hard is the one thing we have in our control, and we know you can do anything you want if you work hard and trust the process."
