AUBURN, Ala. – Coming off a top-10 road win at No. 8 Kentucky, Auburn softball (27-4, 6-3 SEC) rose one spot across all four major national polls.
Auburn was selected as the No. 17 team in the country across the board in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll, the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25, the D1 Softball Top 25 and Softball America's Collegiate Top 25. Auburn did see a drop in the NCAA Division I RPI this week as the Tiger fell to No. 17.
Facing brutal weather condition in Lexington, Ky., the Tigers took one win over the Wildcats. The win was Auburn's first in Lexington since 2016. It was Auburn's first win over a top-10 opponent since knocking off Florida 2-1 on April 27, 2019.
Auburn has homered 50 times through the first 31 games this season, more than doubling its 2021 season total. It is the most home runs by an Auburn team through 31 games since 2015. Auburn's 50 home runs are the seventh most hit in a single season.
Oklahoma remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the country for the seventh consecutive week. A total of nine SEC programs were rankings, including No. 4 Alabama, No. 7 Florida, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 10 Arkansas, No. 13 Tennessee, No. 15 Georgia, No. 20 LSU and No. 24 Missouri
