Karl Nonemaker's first glimpse of SEC baseball was Warren Morris' walk off home run to give LSU the College World Series title in 1996. The New Jersey native played his SEC baseball at Vanderbilt. After two years in pro ball, Nonemaker began his journey to coaching. Stops at Auburn, Monmouth and Old Dominion set up his return to the Plains. When Brad Bohannon left Auburn to take the reins at Alabama, Butch Thompson made the call to Nonemaker. As recruiting coordinator, Nonemaker has helped Auburn to a pair of World Series appearances. Following last season, he was named the American Baseball Coaches Association Division One Assistant Coach of the Year.
