From St. Genevieve, Missouri to President of Auburn University, that's the trek for Dr. Chris Roberts. The former professor in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering made the move to Dean, then to President taking over for Dr. Jay Gogue.
President Roberts was encouraged as a college freshman in a chemistry class by his instructor. That led to a Chemical Engineering major, graduating from Missouri with his bachelor's degree. He earned a master's and PhD at Notre Dame. His brother recommended looking to Auburn for his first teaching job in 1994. In 2003, he was the Department Chair. Nine years later, Dr. Roberts was named Dean of the College of Engineering. Last year, he was named Auburn's President.
