AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn freshman Kaitlyn Carnicella has been named the SEC freshman of the week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced on Wednesday.

After winning the honors in her first week of dual matches, Carnicella continued that momentum to win both of her singles matches during ITA Kickoff Weekend that was hosted on the Plains.

The Whippany, New Jersey native defeated Valentina Khrebtova from UCSB by a 6-2, 6-3 score. On Sunday against No. 23 UCF, Carnicella's comeback victory after dropping the first set to Jaleesa Leslie clinched the 4-1 team victory for the Tigers that earned the team a bid to the 2023 ITA Indoor Championships.

Carnicella and the Tigers will be back in action on the road against Texas Tech on Saturday, February 5th at 11 a.m. CT.
