BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Before the 2023 SEC Swim and Dive Championships get underway, the Auburn program received one more piece of good news as Brynn Curtis and Conner Pruitt were both named to the SEC Community Service Team the conference announced Tuesday.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Pruitt has put community giveback at the forefront of his priorities while on the Plains. Volunteering more than 20 hours over 2022-23, he has been a staple at both the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Habitat for Humanity.
Pruitt was integral in the annual Toys for Tots campaign this season as well as the local Giving Hope campaign to make sure families had practical needs and Christmas gifts during the holiday season. He has also aided the efforts of the AU Sustenance project in an effort to fight food insecurity.
Curtis has led the way for the Auburn Women's Swim and Dive program for community service, donating more than 50 hours of her time to community service in 2022-23.
She has been a staple at the Lee County Humane Society, and has participated in projects at Story Brook Farms and the Big House Foundation. Curtis volunteered at the INOVA hospital, helped organize a food bank during Thanksgiving and Christmas and aided the Special Olympics of Alabama.
