AUBURN, Ala. – No. 9 Auburn women's tennis will return home to host a doubleheader on Sunday against Belmont and UAB after a successful weekend at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Seattle. The Tigers will look to continue their momentum after defeating No. 17 San Diego and No. 8 Pepperdine.
Senior Carolyn Ansari and junior Ariana Arseneault both lead the team with a 5-2 singles dual match record each. Arseneault is coming off of two consecutive ranked victories in singles play over No. 37 Solymar Colling of San Diego as well as No. 20 Janice Tjen of Pepperdine. Ansari has had a lot of success in singles play as of late, as she will enter Sunday with five consecutive singles victories.
Auburn's first opponent, Belmont, currently holds a 2-6 record. The Bruins have had a difficult stretch as of late, as they have dropped each of their last five contests. Belmont is led by Mariia Hlahola, who has played on court one in seven matches so far this season and is sporting a 13-5 record overall and a 5-2 record in dual matches.
After the Tigers' match with Belmont comes to an end, Auburn will face UAB. The Blazers have a 5-3 record including three consecutive victories over Georgia State, Samford and Belmont. Junior Annalisa Smith holds the best dual singles record on the team at 4-3 (11-9 overall).
Auburn's first match against Belmont is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. CT and the second match against UAB will begin at 2:00 p.m. CT. Live streaming video and live stats for both matches will be available at AuburnTigers.com.
