JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 5 Auburn women's tennis will put its four-match winning streak on the line and travel south this weekend to battle North Florida in their second road match of the season on Saturday.
The Tigers were featured fifth in the latest ITA rankings that were released on Tuesday. The ranking marks the highest for the program since Caroline Lilley took the helm in June of 2019.
Ariana Arseneault, Carolyn Ansari and Kaitlyn Carnicella were tabbed 28th, 48th and 120th respectively in singles. Auburn also had two doubles teams represented in Tuesday's rankings, as Arseneault and Ansari were ranked at No. 21 while Anastasia Astakhova and Adeline Flach were ranked at No. 47.
Arseneault and Ansari continue to lead the team from the top two courts with an identical 7-2 record. Ansari will come into Saturday's match riding a seven-match winning streak in singles, including a win over No. 44 Lisa Zarr of Pepperdine at the ITA National Indoor Championship. In doubles play, the regular court two duo of Adeline Flach and Angella Okutoyi have claimed four consecutive victories for the Tigers.
North Florida currently holds a 5-3 record and Saturday's match will be the team's first home match of the season. The Ospreys are led by Kit Gulihur, who holds the team's best singles record at 6-1 and is regularly on court one. Guliher and Ana Paula Melilo were featured on the ITA's latest rankings as the 43rd best doubles team in the nation.
