Nipping right at his heels, German international Danny Schmidt had eyes on history in the 400 IM as well. Schmidt posted a 3:43.61 on Saturday and kept dropping time to throw down a 3:42.99 on Sunday. Schmidt is now the fifth-fastest performer in program history.
