AUBURN, Ala. – No. 13 Auburn starts a stretch of nine games in 12 days beginning with a midweek matchup against Florida A&M Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT at Plainsman Park.

"We have nine games in 12 days, so we're not going to be able to hide," head coach Butch Thompson said. "We have to start making adjustments, finding solutions, and seeing these guys continue to grow."

The game be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network and can be heard locally on 95.9 FM. The contest will also be streamed on SEC Network+.  
 QUICK HITTERS 
Auburn has won at least five of its first seven games in each of the last seven seasons under head coach Butch Thompson.

The Tigers hit a league-best .381 and scored 42 runs on 53 hits in four games last week.

Ike Irish was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the second straight week.

His .586 average and 17 hits lead the SEC and rank top five in the NCAA, and his 17 hits through seven games are the most by an Auburn player since at least 1993.

Bryson Ware ranks second in the SEC to Irish and third in the NCAA with a .583 average. He also ranks top 25 in the NCAA in hits (14), OBP (.633), SLG (1.125) and total bases (27).

Justin Kirby has homered five times in his first seven games, tied for the most homers by an Auburn player through seven games since at least 1993 (Joseph Sanders, 2009).

All five of Kirby's hits so far this season are home runs.

The Tigers are 4-0 all-time against Florida A&M with Wednesday marking the first meeting between the two teams since 2017.
 SCOUTING THE RATTLERS 
Led by 10th-year head coach Jamey Shouppe, Florida A&M is coming off a 2-1 weekend with a pair of wins against Southern and Prarie View A&M in New Orleans.
 
Hitting .249 as a team, the Rattlers are led by junior infielder Jospeh Pierini's .435 clip, which ranks sixth in the SWAC. Pierini also leads the SWAC and ranks sixth in the NCAA with five doubles.
 
On the mound, Florida A&M has posted a 6.93 ERA through eight games
