AUBURN, Ala. – With one week to go until the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships, Auburn received one more piece of good news to round out the regular season as Meghan Lee was awarded SEC Swimmer of the week the conference announced Tuesday.
Getting in some last-minute competition at the Auburn Invitational, Lee managed two podium swims across the weekend. The Timonium, Maryland native saved her best swim for the 100 fly. Her 52.25 is now the fastest time for the Tigers this season and the 24th-best time in the country.
The award marks the first of her career for Lee and the fourth weekly honor for head coach Ryan Wochomurka this season. Reid Mikuta, Kalle Makinen and Casey Cullen were all tabbed for weekly awards following the USC Invite.
Across two days of swimming, Lee posted personal bests in the 100 free, 200 free and 100 fly
On the season, Lee owns five individual wins as well as a slew of victories in both the 200 and 400 medley relays. From the 100 back to the 200 fly, Lee also holds NCAA B Cuts in six individual races.
