AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Sophia Groth of the No. 12 Auburn gymnastics team was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league announced Friday.
 
Groth, of Wes Des Moines, Iowa, began making a difference in the Auburn community since her first day on the Plains.
 
She has been active in reading at multiple elementary schools and preschools throughout the school year these past two years. In addition, Groth and her teammates have done gymnastics demonstrations at area elementary schools, promoting the importance of active lifestyles. Groth has also served on leadership panels at elementary schools.
 
On top of her service to local schools, Groth has played a significant role in local toy and food drives. She has participated in food drive to help feed fellow college students with food insecurities over the last two years.
 
Groth also spearheaded a major toy drive in the Auburn area, supplying presents to the local organization Big House in December 2022. She has served on a Title IX panel as well as at a gala that funds a local organization
