AUBURN, Ala. – The 2023 postseason is just around the corner and Auburn equestrian would like to take this time to catch up with its 2023 senior class!
Today we're featuring Mary McDaniel! The Fredericksburg, Virginia product has provided depth for the Tigers in Jumping Seat throughout her career. She's competed in both Fences and Flat for the squad and has an 81 to her credit in Flat.
She is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree and a two-time NCEA Academic Honor Roll member.
Q: How is this season different knowing it's your last year on the Plains?
A: "My season has been a little different because I'm really trying to lay it all out there and give it my all because it's my last few months in Auburn."
Q: How has your experience prepared you for life beyond college?
A: "My experience has prepared me because I have learned how to get along with all different people."
Q: What would you like to say to the fans and the rest of the Auburn Family?
A: "I would like to say thank you to all of the fans and the Auburn Family. It has been the best four years of my life and I never want to leave Auburn. It has been the most welcoming community. It really is my family."
Q: What are you most looking forward to as we head into postseason?
A: "I'm most looking forward to laying it all on the line and working together with my teammates to finish it!"
Q: What is your major and what is the next step for you after Auburn?
A: "My major is Fitness, Conditioning and Performance. I am going to the University of Virginia next year to get my master's in elementary education."
Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition and why?
A: "My favorite Auburn Tradition is probably when the eagle flies at the games. There are so many Auburn traditions I love so much that it's really hard to choose just one."
Q: Who is/was your favorite horse at Auburn and why?
A: "My favorite horse at Auburn is Cento. I think he is so entertaining to watch, and he is so much fun to ride."
Q: Best Greg Williams quote?
A: "Coach has so many quotes, but I will have to say probably one of the ones where he compares us and our team to some war story to really motivate us."
