ATHENS, Ga. – The final round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic was cancelled due to inclement weather on Sunday. With the final round being cancelled, the results following the second-round became the final results of the tournament, leading to an Auburn team victory as well as an individual victory for Elina Sinz, who shot 5-under over two days (139).

"We knew the weather for the final round wouldn't be great, so the mindset in round two was to think of it as the final day," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "So proud of how they responded! A win is a win, and this victory was convincing."

As a team, the Tigers finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 563 (-13) and a 11-stroke victory over second-place South Carolina. The win is the second of the 2022-23 season for the Tigers and the sixth team victory for Auburn under head coach Melissa Luellen. Sinz claimed her first ever collegiate tournament victory, as she bested the field by one stroke over two rounds.

"Big congratulations to Elina for her individual victory," said Coach Luellen. "Great to bring bulldog trophies back to Auburn!"

The Tigers, who have now posted a top five finish in each of their last seven tournaments, defeated eight teams that are ranked in GolfStat's top-50 including top-10 teams No. 4 South Carolina and No. 9 Texas A&M.

Senior Megan Schofill also had a great finish at the Liz Murphey, as she finished with a two-day total of 141 (-3) which led to a tie for third place individually. Freshman Katie Cranson was the third Tiger to earn a top five, as her 2-under 140 placed her in a tie for fifth place on the leaderboard.

Redshirt freshman Casey Weidenfeld picked up her fourth top-15 finish of the season, as she ended up in a tie for 14th at 1-over par (145). Junior Anna Foster's two-day total of 147 (+3) placed her in a tie for 22nd individually.

Up next, Auburn will have participants in the Pinetree Country Club Women's Collegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia. The event, which is hosted by Kennesaw State, will take place on April 3rd and 4th at the Pinetree Country Club.
