AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn's Elina Sinz and Katie Cranston each earned recognition from the Southeastern Conference for their play at this week's Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia. Sinz was awarded with SEC Player of the Week honors while Cranston was tapped as SEC Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Sinz picked up the honor in the wake of earning first career individual victory at the Liz Murphey on Sunday. The junior finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 139 (-5) to best the field by one stroke. Sinz also tied for the lowest par five scoring in the field at 5-under and was second in the field in birdies with 10 over both days. The Katy, Texas native was under par in both rounds with a 3-under 69 in round one and a 2-under 70 in round two.

This marks the junior's first SEC Player of the Week honor and the third honor received from the conference in her career, as she was honored as the SEC Freshman of the Week on February 17, 2021 and was named to the All-SEC freshman team in 2021.

Cranston earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the first time in just her fourth tournament representing the Tigers. Cranston recorded her best finish of the season with a tie for fifth at the Liz Murphey, which was the highest finish of any freshman in the field. The Oakville, Canada native finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2) and tied for third in the field in birdies with nine.

Sinz becomes the second Tiger to earn SEC Player of the Week honors this season, after senior Megan Schofill was tapped with the honor in September following her victory at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Cranston joins Casey Weidenfeld as the only Auburn golfers to be named SEC Freshman of the Week. Weidenfeld won the award in November after her performance at the East Lake Cup.
