Augusta National Women's Amateur

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Auburn senior Megan Schofill fired a 1-under 71 in the second round at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Thursday to make the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. With only the top 30 players plus ties in the field of 72 making the cut, Schofill's 36-hole score of 146 (+2) placed her in a tie for 28th.

"I'm super excited to have made the cut," the Auburn senior said after the round. "I hit the ball solid the last two rounds, just didn't really make many putts during the first round. Today, I finally was able to get some putts to drop, which helped me get some momentum going early. I made a couple of bogeys late in the round, but was able to make a birdie after those to calm my nerves and settle me down a little bit."

The Monticello, Florida native's second round featured four birdies including three on her opening nine which helped her make the cut by one stroke. Schofill becomes the second Tiger to play the final round of the ANWA after Kaleigh Telfer made the cut at the event in both 2019 and 2021. This will be the first time making the cut at the prestigious tournament for Schofill.

"I am really looking forward to playing in the final round," said Schofill. "I think that it is going to be a great experience for me and it will be a lot of fun. It is very difficult to get there so I am proud of myself for being able to make the cut."

All participants will have the ability to take part in a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday and the final round of the tournament will take place on Saturday.

The champion of the Augusta National Women's Amateur will receive an invitational to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs, the 2023 U.S. Women's Open, the 2023 Women's Open, as well as any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.

NBC will broadcast live coverage of Saturday's final round from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT. Additionally, a live leaderboard and live stream will be available online at ANWAgolf.com.
