AUBURN, Ala. – Following an outstanding performance that pushed No. 7 Auburn men's golf to its fourth team title of the season, junior Carson Bacha has been recognized by the Southeastern Conference as co-golfer of the week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
With the first weekly conference honor of his career, Bacha becomes the fourth different Auburn man to capture the award for the 2022-23 season.
Bacha's recognition comes on the heels of his first collegiate victory at the Tiger Invitational. For the tournament, Bacha tied the event record by an Auburn player, shooting 71-68-66 for a 205 (-11). As the team's low scorer, the junior also led the Tigers to a 41-under (823) mark as a team, setting not only a record for the Tiger Invitational but also the third-lowest 54-hole mark in program history.
In his outing at the Tiger, Bacha matched five bogeys with 12 birdies and was one of seven players to record multiple eagles throughout the event, earning a nod to the All-Tournament team.
Bacha shares this week SEC nod with Ryan Hart of Florida.
Bacha and the No. 7-ranked Auburn Tigers return to action next week, March 13-14, at the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
