AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior Selin Ovunc has been named to the women's tennis SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced on Thursday.

After multiple earthquakes hit her home country of Turkey, Ovunc raised awareness and encouraged donations to the AHBAP on campus with the Turkish Student Organization. Ovunc also assisted in holding fundraisers that benefited earthquake victims. The senior was instrumental in opening a refugee area for earthquake victims after the tragedy as well.

In the Auburn community, Ovunc does voluntary community work at Dean Road Elementary School where has spent time with children talking about her experiences as a student-athlete and answering questions. Additionally, Ovunc fostered a dog for the Pups on the Plains' Rescue Team, a student-run organization with the mission of pulling dogs out of shelters and teaching them how to become home pets through fostering.

During the 2022 season, Ovunc regularly played at the top of the Auburn singles lineup and finished the season ranked as the 34th best singles player in the nation. She and partner Ariana Arseneault, the ninth best doubles team in the country in the final ITA poll, recorded an 18-7 overall doubles record.
