Men’s golf tied 10th heading into final round at SEC Championship

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – A tough Thursday at the SEC Championship saw No. 8 Auburn men's golf shoot 291 (+11) and fall to a tie for 10th place at Seaside Golf Club.
 
Auburn will need a push in tomorrow's stroke play finale. Following the conclusion of round three, the bottom six teams will be cut and the top eight will proceed to match play until a champion is crowned.
 
All five Tigers shot above par in round two. Senior Alex Vogelsong leads the lineup in a tie for seventh at 3-under following a 1-over 71 in his middle 18.
 
Junior J.M. Butler shot 72 (+2) while junior Carson Bacha, sophomore Brendan Valdes and freshman Reed Lotter all carded 74s (+4).
 
For the third round, Auburn will be paired with Georgia and LSU and tee off from the back nine beginning at 7:20 a.m. CT.
