  • Homered in four straight games for a total of five long balls vs. Samford and Mississippi State last week, marking the second time this season an Auburn player has homered in four straight games (Bryson Ware, Mar. 3-7).
  • Led the SEC in home runs (five) and total bases (20) while tying for the league lead in runs (seven) and RBI (nine) for the week.
  • Three of his four home runs in the series vs. Mississippi State got Auburn's scoring started in the contests – a solo homer in the fifth inning Friday, two-run homer in the second inning Saturday, and three-run homer in the fourth inning Sunday.
  • Turned in his second multi-homer game of the season and drove in a career-high five runs in the team's seven-run comeback win in the finale vs. Mississippi State.
  • Homered off both foul poles in back-to-back at-bats in the fourth and sixth innings, one three-run shot and one two-run shot.
  • He is the first Auburn player to homer in three straight SEC games since Trent Mummey from Apr. 17-23, 2010
  • His five RBI tied for the most by an Auburn player in a SEC game since Tony Caldwell drove in seven runs at Kentucky on Apr. 9, 2011.

  • Turned in his second straight scoreless start and left the game with a 1-0 lead in the series-opening win vs. Mississippi State.
  • Struck out a career-high 10 batters, marking Auburn's first 10-strikeout game since Mason Barnett against UCLA in the regional last year and the team first 10-strikeout game in SEC play since Tanner Burns did so against Arkansas on Apr. 5, 2019.
  • Struck out five of the first nine batters he faced and notched his season-high ninth strikeout in just 4.0 innings pitched.
  • Hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts and 11.2 innings of work.

  • In two SEC starts, has held opponents to two runs on six hits in 9.0 innings pitched.

  • After Auburn pitchers had allowed nine runs in 4.2 innings, Copeland settled the game and held Mississippi State to two unearned runs in 4.1 innings of work to allow for the comeback and series-clinching win.
  • The 4.1 innings of work was one out shy of matching a season high turned in by an Auburn reliever this season.
  • Retired the first seven batters he faced and allowed just four baserunners in his outing – three hits, one error.

 

TEAM NOTES
Auburn's run-rule win vs. Samford Tuesday was the team's fourth run-rule win of the season … the Tigers improved to 8-2 in midweek games with the win vs. the Bulldogs … the win in the series opener vs. Mississippi State improved the team to 8-2 in series openers this season, including 4-2 in SEC series openers … the team matched a season high with 14 strikeouts and matched a season low allowing one run in the series opener … the Tigers got 10.0 scoreless innings with 14 strikeouts from starting pitchers in the first two games of the series … Auburn came back from a seven-run deficit to win the series finale in walk-off fashion … it marked the team's largest come-from-behind win in a SEC game since coming back from a nine-run deficit vs. Mississippi State on May 8, 2010 … it also marked the team's second comeback win when trailing by seven runs this season – Georgia Tech on Mar. 14 … the comeback win marked Auburn's 11th this season … the one-run wins in the series opener and finale were the seventh and eighth one-run wins of the season … the walk-off win in the series finale was the team's fourth this season, including its second in SEC play … the Tigers homered a season-high four times in the series finale vs. Mississippi State and totaled nine home runs for the week, including seven on the weekend … the four homers in the finale marked the most homers in a SEC game since homering six times vs. Texas A&M on May 15, 2021 … all three games against Mississippi State were sold out … all nine SEC home games and 12 total games this season have now been sold out.
