Relays led the way on Day two at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—A first place finish in the men's distance medley relay and second place finish in the women's 4x200m relay headlined day two for the Tigers at the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Friday.
 
Junior Ryan Kinnane outkicked Clemson's Victor Ndiwa over the last 50 meters on the anchor leg of the men's distance medley relay to secure the win for the Tigers. Kinnane, who split a strong 4:03.56 over 1600m was joined by sophomore Louis O'Loughlin and freshmen Matthew Rainer and Rex Green to clock a time of 9:42.46, the fifth fastest time in program history. It was also the fastest Auburn DMR in 32 years.
 
On the women's side, junior Ashantae Harvey, and freshmen Chante Clinkscale, Amirah Sharpe and Arianna Sharpe combined efforts in the college women's 4x200m relay Championships of America to claim silver. The Tiger won their heat in 1:37.93 to finish second overall just behind the University of South Florida's 1:36.45.
 
The women's 4x400m relay team secured an automatic qualifying spot to Saturday's Championships of America final by clocking 3:43.84. Harvey, the Sharpe sisters and freshman Abasiono Akpan finished second in their heat and sixth overall.
 
In the field, junior Lexie Leinneweber and sophomore Rhiannon Held finished second and third in the college women's pole vault. Leinnewber cleared 3.93m/12-10.75 while Held cleared 3.78m/12-4.75 to round out the top three in the competition.
 
Auburn will begin its final day in Philadelphia at 8:30 a.m. CT with the college women's discus throw championship. Live results for Penn Relays can be found here.
