CARY, N.C. – Senior third baseman Bryson Ware has been named to the 2023 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, USA Baseball announced Wednesday.
The list features 45 of the nation's best athletes from both college and high school baseball. Ware is the sixth Auburn student-athlete named to the midseason watch list since 2016, joining former players Anfernee Grier (2016), Keegan Thompson (2017), Casey Mize (2017, '18), Tanner Burns (2019) and Sonny DiChiara (2022) on the list.
Through 29 games, Ware ranks in the top six in the NCAA in home runs (14), slugging percentage (.864) and total bases (95) while also ranking 10th in the Southeastern Conference in hits (43) and RBI (38) and 12th in average (.391).
The Madison, Mississippi, has reached base in 30 straight games dating back to his final game of 2022 and has a hit in 27 of 29 games this season, including 13 straight. He homered seven times in nine games from Feb. 21-Mar. 7, including a span of four straight games, and has now homered seven times in the last 11 games.
Ware is one of 16 representatives from the SEC, boasting the most of any conference on the midseason watch list. The 2023 Golden Spikes Award timeline is as follows:

June 5: Golden Spikes Award semifinalists fan voting ends
June 7: Golden Spikes Award finalists announced and fan voting begins
June 21: Golden Spikes Award finalists fan voting ends
June 25: Golden Spikes Award winner announced
Ware and the Tigers (18-10-1, 3-6 SEC) continue Southeastern Conference play with a three-game series vs. Texas A&M (18-11, 3-6 SEC) Thursday-Saturday at Plainsman Park.
