AUBURN, Ala. – For a record seventh time during the 2022-23 season, an Auburn player has received weekly recognition from the Southeastern Conference as Ryan Eshleman has been named SEC Co-Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
With Eshleman receiving the honor for the first time in his career, the SEC has now named six different Auburn men player of the week this season.
The junior from Birmingham, Alabama made headlines earlier in the week after capturing the first collegiate win of his career at the Mossy Oak Collegiate. Eshleman shot 67-67-69 for a 203 (-13) to break the tournament record and become medalist alongside Sarut Vongchaisit of Ole Miss.
In addition to the win, Eshleman set a new personal low for 54-hole by two strokes, topping his previous best of 199 (-11) from the Maui Jim Intercollegiate last fall. The 13-under performance also ranks tied for the eighth-best in school history.
