Three Tigers selected to 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District Softball Team

AUBURN, Ala. – Three Auburn softball student-athletes were selected to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Softball Team, including Aspyn Godwin, Carlee McCondichie and Nelia Peralta.
 
The academic distinctions from CSC are the first in the careers of all three Tigers. They are the first Tigers to be honored by the organization since Justus Perry in 2020. Auburn's three honorees this season are the most in school history. With their selections, Auburn softball's all-time total of academic honorees improved to 14.
 
Splitting time behind the plate for the Tigers, Godwin has made 44 appearances with 29 starts. Holding a .263 batting average, Godwin has slugged three doubles and five home runs for 19 RBI and holds a .817 OPS percentage. Committing just one error this season, Godwin enters postseason play with a .996 fielding percentage, the fourth highest recorded in a single season. The Silverhill, Alabama, native completed her undergraduate degree in exercise science and will begin her occupational therapy program at Alabama State this August. She is a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
 
McCondichie has made 49 starts at second base for the Tigers and holds a .303 batting average with help 36 hits, including five doubles, one triple and a pair of home runs. She has scored 24 runs and has driven in 22 more for Auburn. On the verge of a major milestone, McCondichie needs just two hits to record the 100th of her collegiate career. The Birmingham, Alabama, native earned her undergraduate degree in public relations this spring. She is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and a 2022 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
 
Fresh off being named Second Team All-SEC, Peralta has started all 57 games for Auburn at shortstop and has held down the leadoff spot in the batting order. Peralta leads the team with a .336 average, 38 runs scored and 50 hits. She's added six doubles, two triples and nine home runs for a .584 slugging percentage for the top of the order. Peralta has reached safely in 53 of Auburn's 57 contest. The Wellington, Florida, native is working towards her degree in exercise science. She was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll member and as a 2022 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete in her debut season.
 
The 2022-23 Academic All-District Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 and must have played in a minimum of 50 percent of a team's games to be eligible with pitchers requiring 10.0 IP. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed a full year at their institution, unless they are a graduate transfer.
 
Godwin, McCondichie and Peralta now advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American voting. The Division I winners will be announced June 6.
