Braswell named NCEA Jumping Seat Coach of the Year

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn head coach Jessica Braswell was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's 2023 Dual Discipline Jumping Seat Coach of the Year, the organization announced Wednesday.
 
Braswell, who was promoted to the program's head coach on April 28, led the Jumping Seat side of the roster to five All-America honors and seven All-SEC recognitions. Her riders combined for 63 individual wins in Fences and 52 in Flat.
 
Junior Ellie Ferrigno was named the SEC Fences Rider of the Year under Braswell's guidance. Fifth year Emma Kurtz and Ferrigno were both placed of the Fences and Flat All-SEC teams. Senior Ava Stearns earned spots on the NCEA All-Championship Teams for Fences and Flat, while sophomore Sophee Steckbeck was on the Fences team.
 
As a whole, Auburn finished the season with a 15-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in Southeastern Conference action. The Tigers captured their fifth-straight SEC title and reached the NCEA Championship match, finishing as national runner-up.
