DALLAS – Senior third baseman Bryson Ware has been named a semifinalist for the 2023 Dick Howser Trophy, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Friday.

Ware is one of 60 semifinalists from across the country, including a leading 12 from the Southeastern Conference. He becomes Auburn's fifth semifinalist for the award, joining Hunter Morris (2010), Casey Mize (2018), Ryan Bliss (2021) and Sonny DiChiara (2022).

The finalists for the award will be announced on Thursday, June 8, and the winner will be revealed on MLB Network on Thursday, June 15.

A native of Madison, Mississippi, Ware leads Auburn and ranks in the top 10 in the league in runs (57), home runs (19), slugging percentage (.715) and total bases (138) while hitting at a career-best .352 clip with 54 RBI. Ten of Ware's 19 home runs have come during league play. He leads the team with 34 runs and 35 hits and ranks second with a .321 average in SEC games.

Ware, who was previously named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list, started the year on a career-best, 34-game on base streak and went on an 18-game hit streak from Mar. 14-Apr. 14, the longest by an Auburn player since 2015-16. He has reached safely in all but two games this season.

Ware and the Tigers (30-19-1, 14-13 SEC) wrap up the regular season against Missouri (30-20, 10-17 SEC) this weekend at Plainsman Park.
