AUBURN, Ala. – Coming off a series win against the top-ranked team in the country, No. 23 Auburn (27-19-1) starts a stretch of four road games in five days with a midweek matchup against Samford (27-21) Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

"I would expect (Samford's) best tomorrow night," head coach Butch Thompson said. "Playing at the Hoover Met, hopefully somewhere we can play good enough to get back and be a part of the SEC Tournament, that's the sincere goal."

Auburn is coming off back-to-back series wins at No. 2 South Carolina and vs. No. 1 LSU.
The Tigers are the only team in the SEC to have won three straight SEC series.
The team is 8-3 in midweek games, including 3-2 in midweek games away from Plainsman Park and 2-0 in neutral-site midweek contests.

Coming off a 3-1 week against Jacksonville State and Western Carolina, Samford enters the week with a 27-21 overall record and are in first place in the Southern Conference with a 12-6 mark in league play.
The Bulldogs are hitting .281 as a team and rank second in their league with 90 doubles and 77 home runs.
Four everyday players are hitting better than .300 - Jayden Davis (.374), Stephen Klein (.329), Garrett Howe (.322) and Lucas Steele (.305).
On the mound, the Bulldogs have a 6.17 staff ERA with 421 strikeouts and 216 walks in 405.1 innings.
