SAN ANTONIO, Texas – No. 7 women's golf improved three spots on the leaderboard during a rainy second round of the NCAA San Antonio Regional after firing a 2-over 290 on Tuesday. The Tigers are now in fifth place with one round remaining in the tournament, which will be played on Wednesday.

Play was suspended just after 10 a.m. CT due to lightning but resumed after a 53-minute delay.

"Just a different vibe today from everyone," said Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen. "Today the focus was hitting as many greens as possible and being completely locked in on every shot. Really proud of the performance by all today. Tomorrow is the final round on a tough golf course, and we need to continue to be sharp and I am confident that we will play to win."

Redshirt freshman Casey Weidenfeld posted the best round on the team Tuesday with a 2-under 70. Weidenfeld had a clean scorecard during her second round, as she went bogey-free in her seventh round under par this season. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native is now in a tie for 18th place individually at 3-over for the tournament (147).

Auburn senior Megan Schofill is now in the top-10 on the leaderboard after her second round, carding an even par 72 with three birdies. Schofill has a 36-hole total of 145 (+1), which places her in a tie for seventh place.

Junior Anna Foster bounced back after a difficult first round to post a 1-over 73 in round two. Foster caught fire during the second nine, where she recorded four birdies. The junior moved up 15 spots on the individual leaderboard on Tuesday and is currently in a tie for 32nd.

Freshman Katie Cranston's score counted towards the team total for the 15th time this season, as she recorded a 75 (+3) with three birdies and is in a tie for 36th place for the tournament.

The top five teams and top individual (not on a top five team) of the 54-hole tournament, which will conclude Wednesday, will advance to the championship finals at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Auburn will begin the final round at TPC San Antonio at 8 a.m. CT and will be paired with players from Pepperdine and Denver. Live scoring of the tournament will be available online at Golfstat.com and the Golfstat mobile app.
