LIGONIER, Pa. – Auburn's Megan Schofill contributed to three match victories during the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup in a winning effort as Team USA defeated Team International 32-28.

During the opening round on Thursday, Schofill and partner Caleb Surratt of Tennessee claimed Team USA's first point of the competition with a 4&3 victory over Herman Sekne and Mirabel Ting in a Mixed fourball format. The American team recorded six birdies on the card before claiming the match win on No. 15.

Saturday included a foursome alternate shot format in the morning matches and a mixed foursome alternate shot format in the afternoon matches. Saturday morning, Schofill again contributed to a victory as she and partner Ashley Menne of Arizona State took down the Team International duo of Caitlyn Macnab and Lorna McClymont 4&3 in a match where Schofill and Menne never trailed.

The Auburn senior recorded her third victory of the competition on Friday afternoon, where she was again paired with Surratt. Schofill and Surratt defeated Mats Ege and Caitlyn Macnab 2&1 thanks to three birdies on the front nine.

Team USA led Team International 23.5 to 12.5 after the first two days of competition heading into Saturday's singles round. In singles, Schofill led her match over Julia Lopez Ramirez of Mississippi State 1-up through their first seven holes, which featured three birdies from the Auburn Tiger. Lopez Ramirez ultimately won the match on the second nine 3&2.

Team International closed the gap by claiming 15 of the 24 singles matches on Saturday, but Team USA prevailed with a 32-28 overall victory to claim the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup.

Schofill's selection to Team USA in April marked the fourth Arnold Palmer Cup selection by an Auburn golfer in program history. Julie McCarthy was chosen to represent the International team in 2019 while Schofill and Kaleigh Telfer both participated in 2020 with Schofill on the American team and Telfer on the International team.
