He began his Auburn career as a walk-on. He didn't even know what the head baseball coach looked like. By the time his career was over, he was one of the most durable Major League Baseball relievers of his era…and it almost didn't occur.

Scott Sullivan picked up a ball and threw sidearm in a practice. Under the watchful eye of Hal Baird, the legend of Sully was underway.  

He spent 10 years in the majors, a majority of the time with the Cincinnati Reds. From 1998 to 2001 he threw at least 100 innings…as a reliever.
