AUBURN, Ala. – A two-time All-BIG EAST selection and an academic standout in her two seasons at DePaul, catcher Anna Wohlers joins Auburn softball for the 2024 season, head coach Mickey Dean announced Thursday.

"Anna has an excellent slugging percentage and will be a key part of adding power to our lineup," Dean said of Wohlers. "She's seen playing time at catcher and both corner infield positions. We were searching for versatile players with the ability to play multiple positions to keep our team healthy during the grind of the season."

The Davenport, Iowa, native spent the last two seasons at DePaul and started 104 consecutive games for the Blue Demons. In her two seasons, Wohlers held a .341 batting average behind 103 hits and scored 64 runs. Wohlers added 27 doubles, five triples and 20 home runs for 75 career RBI and a .662 slugging percentage. She coupled her slugging numbers with a .427 on-base percentage during her time in Chicago.

Wohlers was a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST selection during her sophomore season after leading the Blue Demons in almost every category with career best numbers. Wohlers posted a team leading .364 batting average while also leading DePaul in runs scored (34), hits (55), doubles (15), home runs (12), RBI (38), slugging (.728) and on-base percentage (.446).

Adding Second Team All-BIG EAST honors during her debut season, Wohlers turned in a .314 average behind 48 hits in 2022. She ranked second on the team that year with a .456 on-base percentage, eight home runs and 12 doubles. She added 46 runs scored and 37 RBI.

Wholers was a 2022 BIG EAST All-Academic honoree and was named a 2022 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete.

Playing her prep career at Assumption, Wholers was a four-time state champion and was named Iowa Metro Player of the Year as a senior. In 2021, she was selected Mississippi Athletic Conference Player of the Year and won multiple First Team All-State honors over her career.
