AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn was among the nation's top teams with 14 players named to the 11th annual Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List on Wednesday.
It was a mixture of returning veterans and transfers who made the list for the Tigers.
The returners included defensive backs D.J. James, Nehemiah Pritchett, Keionte Scott and Jaylin Simpson, along with wide receiver Ja'Varrius Johnson.
The other nine players selected are all incoming transfers. The list includes tight end Rivaldo Fairweather, wide receiver Shane Hooks, defensive end Elijah McAllister, linebacker Jalen McLeod, linebacker Larry Nixon III, defensive lineman Justin Rogers, wide receiver Jyaire Shorter, quarterback Payton Thorne and offensive tackle Dillon Wade.
This year's watch list is made up of the "best of the best" draft prospects at every level of college football for the 2024 NFL Draft and was selected by the Senior Bowl scouting team, which is comprised of eleven scouts with over 200 years of NFL experience.
The initial list, unveiled Wednesday, included 720 prospects – all position players. Specialists will be named at a later date.
Auburn was represented by Derick Hall and Eku Leota in the 2022 Senior Bowl, extending the program's streak of having at least one participant in every Senior Bowl since 1967. Hall went on to be a second-round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks.
The 2024 Senior Bowl will be held Feb. 3 at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
