AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn equestrian team's 'Going Pro' will feature alums throughout the school year, showcasing many past Tigers now finding success away from Auburn.
This week we're showcasing Taylor St. Jacques! The Jumping Seat rider finished her career as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history. She was a part of three Southeastern Conference crowns as well as back-to-back national titles in 2018 and 2019.
St. Jacques concluded her time on campus with a program-best 49 career wins in Flat and totaled 20 MOP honors in the event. She was a seven-time All-American and a five-time All-SEC honoree. St. Jacques was named the 2019 and 2020 NCEA Flat Rider of the Year as well as the 2021 NCEA Fences Rider of the Year. She was also a three-time SEC Flat Rider of the Year in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

What are you currently doing?
"I'm riding professionally."
Why did you decide to go pro after your time on the team?
"I always intended to stay in the business and ride professionally after school."
What is your horse's name and what classes are you competing in?
"My horse's name is 'Jakilly', and I'm competing in FEI 2*/3*."
What is one of your favorite moments so far competing professionally?
"Developing and bringing along 'Jakilly' over the past year and a half from 1.15m to the 1.55m level has been my biggest victory and proudest moment to reflect on so far."
How did Auburn prepare you to be successful away from the Plains?
"Auburn encouraged me to be a better version of myself every day. The experiences, lessons learned, and mentorship provided were beyond invaluable."
Favorite moment or memory from your time on the team?
"Winning the national championship in 2019 and completing the first-ever undefeated season in the sport."
What does the Auburn Family mean to you?
"The Auburn Family means everything to me. Everyone only wants the best for you and the outpour of support is unmatched."
Advice to current and future Auburn riders?
"My advice is to enjoy every moment and soak it all in. Your four years at Auburn will honestly be the best four years of your life."
