AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn cross country senior Ryan Kinnane was named U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Runner of the Week.
Kinnane is the first Auburn cross country runner in program history to win national runner of the week honors from the USTFCCCA.
At last week's Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama, he captured his first meet win of his collegiate career while running a personal best, 23:19.90, in the men's 8k. Kinnane helped his team to a second-place finish with 81 points and upset No. 23 Alabama.
Kinnane was also named SEC Men's Runner of the Week this week.
The Tigers will be back in action Friday, Sept. 29 as the team travels to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown at Franklin Park.
