Auburn completes third day at Fall Ranked Spotlight

CARY, N.C. - Auburn completed the third day of competition at the Fall Ranked Spotlight hosted by NC State on Saturday. DJ Bennett had the best day for the Tigers, winning both of her matches in three sets. 

"One of the more difficult days I have had since being at Auburn," said Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley. "I need to do a better job of making sure the behavior patters we want in our program are rewarded consistently. DJ did a really good job today of working thorugh adversity. She has come a long way in the areas she can control."

Bennett came back after dropping the first set to defeat Gina Dittman of NC State 4-6, 6-3, 10-2 in her first match of the day, then took down Oklahoma's Julia Garcia Ruiz 6-2, 6-7 (3), 10-2 on Saturday evening. 

No. 22 Carolyn Ansari received a win over 30th ranked Abbey Forbes of North Carolina due to a retirement then lost a ranked match to Texas' Tanya Sasnouskaya in two sets. 

Ariana Arseneault and Kaitlyn Carnicella both had a difficult day on Saturday, dropping two singles matches each. 

The tournament will wrap up on Sunday and feature both singles and doubles matches. The final results will be posted to AuburnTigers.com at the conclusion of play.
