AUBURN, Ala. – For the first time since 2021, fall softball returns to Jane B. Moore Field as the Tigers open their exhibition slate Sunday with a doubleheader versus in-state opponents Snead State and Troy.

"We're excited to get on the field and face competition other than ourselves," said head coach Mickey Dean. "We have several new faces with the program. We're going to use different combinations throughout the fall. You're going to see multiple athletes play different positions as we start to feel out our lineup."

The first of four doubleheaders scheduled this October, Auburn takes on Snead State at 1 p.m. CT. Following a brief pause in the action for field maintenance, the Tigers and Trojans square off to conclude Sunday's action. First pitch versus the Trojans is slated for approximately 3:30 p.m. CT.

Admission to all fall softball games at Jane B. Moore Field is free. Light concession options are available for purchase.

Auburn is led by a veteran group of seniors that features Makayla Packer, KK McCrary, Shelby Lowe and NFCA All-American Maddie Penta. Auburn also returns its leading offensive threat from a season ago in All-SEC performer Nelia Peralta

After rewriting the record book to become Auburn's first SEC Pitcher of the Year winner in program history, Penta anchors Auburn's pitching staff that is returning all five hurlers from 2023 as Annabelle Widra, Icess Tresvik and Emmah Rolfe round out returners with Penta and Lowe. The Tigers also added a pair of true freshmen to the staff in Malayna Tamborra and Chalea Clemmons. Fans can expect a heavy dose of work from Auburn's underclassmen in the circle throughout the fall.

Peralta and Packer lead the Tiger offense as the duo turned in strong performances a season ago. Peralta closed her sophomore campaign as the team leader in batting average (.329), hits (54), runs scored (39) walks (43) and on-base percentage (.479). While triple threat Packer posted a .307 average with five extra-base hits during her junior campaign while recording her third straight season with 10+ stolen bases.

Auburn's lineup features several new faces including a pair of transfers in Anna Wohlers and Amelia Lech. The duo will help Aubrie Lisenby carry the load behind the dish this fall alongside sophomores Skylar Elkins and Millie Roberts.
